Negative * Negative
Challenges we face are a plenty. To have motivation and to work towards achieving our goal always tend to be a roller coaster. I have been trying to analyse people mindset, when they come across tough situtaions. It is always at times of panic, people tend to make wrong decisions. I have made many of those. Also, the approach to complete a task, the end result of any work seems to worry all of us. Probably, the ‘positive’ or ‘negative’ thinking comes into play.
Positive or negative thinking is a way of visualizing the outcome. I always hear people say “Think positively”. What do they mean? I feel it symbolises to have faith in ourselves. So having the confidence in ourselves is very good and gets reflected in the way we present ourselves to the society. It creates a healthy environment among the people whom you daily meet. I feel, at times of thinking very positevely smears the problems beneath and would have great impact on a later stage. It makes people over-confident, which in turn lead to commiting mistakes. I always believe to have hope in what things we do, and at the same time try to think negatively, which means, try to find out the problems. Once the problems are identified, the result would be free of mistakes. This would mean equipping ourselves against stronger bad forces. Probably, this is how even the antivirus ( computer/medicine) is developed. The strenghts of virus is known. Try to analyse the negative aspects of virus harming and produce an antivirus to reduce the effect of virus.
I have an opinion that one has to display positive attitude, tend to think in negative( means identifying the problems) and counter those problems ( negative/reduce) . So finally the result will be positive ( means, we are able to achieve what we wanted after facing all difficulties) . There are advantages of positive and negative thinking. It all depends on how we analyse the problem.
“I have an opinion that one has to display positive attitude, tend to think in negative( means identifying the problems) and counter those problems ( negative/reduce)”- I completely agree with you!! And this is something that I have been learning from my job as a tester too. Good post.

Yes, we need to look at all possible angles to gauge the depth of the problem. I would like to use the word “practical” or “realistic” thinking instead of negative thinking. The example of Anti-virus is one such realistic thinking. Negative is something which hinders you from moving ahead. Good post though

Rightly said. Positive thinking makes you a better person , you will feel the difference yourself. Instead of wasting your energy and precious time in cursing the fate and destiny and what not, use it to change any thing to work for you.
And to think of the concept that even seeing things negatively and analyzing the problems to improve oneself(I had not pictured negative thinking to be ever useful !) is overwhelming!
Btw what can be achieved by sheer negative thinking(apart from identifying problems), well nothing at all.
The one who thinks
he is ruined
is thus ruined
forever
The one who
does not,
does make a difference
to him and to his world.
