‘Co-operate life’

It has been over a month writing a post. The question is that is there any time to write?  Yes, time was always there, but there were lot of thoughts to write. I realise that i missed something, the college days. Its been over three months entering into the corporate life. New style of life, new people, new goals and new values to imbibe. Corporate culture goes with its own pros and cons. Performance is the key to success in this highly competitve world where minds clash, ideas float accross and to be the best among the rest, it takes an inidvidual to be any extra step ahead.  Saying so, the work has instilled a sense of confidence and has been tuning us to be a more responsible person. Its a phase of life where we feel proud of ourselves; a phase which bolsters a kind of hatredness in us. Every friend you meet seems to be more interested in the company you work rather than the individual. Everyone tries to make a point, ” X company is better than Y”.  It is this thought which widens the relationship you share with your good old golden friends.  With a blink, everything seems to be drifting away, each finding a different direction.  A stupid mistake, they are lost.

People have different understanding for the ‘corporate life’. Companies see it ‘co-operate’ life. Its is truly evident in workshops they conduct as a part of pre-employment procedures. The dramas that we enacted about ‘Team work’, ‘Achieving together’ seems to make a meaning to me now. During those workshops, i felt what the need would be? But within three months into a ocean, i realise. I dont say corporate life is all bad, but i feel somewhere deep inside us,  we give atmost importance to ‘I’. Everyone new to the company is very much interested to please his/her boss, the talent they have etc…, this indeed at some point would have a clash with the peers.

I know that the sense of ‘my company’, praising it in all angles among friends will slowly die down. But on its course, i hope, it does not erode the sense of friendliness we share with each other.

This was my point on the corporate life, have lot of things to say, will put it as time passes by.

Now, the other monster that is grabbing all media attention these days, is the “financial crisis”. It is not only the West that is facing the wrath. It sequence of events started with the fall of Lehman brothers continued with the banks. The US government has invested billions of dollars into the system to prevent further deepening of the crisis. India, too is facing the problem. People being shown ‘pink slips’ without notice. It gives an indication of how much the Indian IT industry is dependent on the West. I hope the money people have deposited in banks are safe.

The other news making the headlines is the Chandrayan. A ‘baby’ of the ISRO- Indian Space research organization which is on its way to explore our planet’s satellite, the ‘moon’. It was a beauty to watch live telecast of the satellite launch. At this point, i began to remember Kalpana Chawla, Sunitha Williams.., their success in space field. The feel of success in the face of toiled Indian scientists made me feel, am i contributing anything to the country? Well, i need to introspect myself. All cannot become scientists, so said, we can always encourage them.

India beating Australia in the Second test match in Mohali, with Sachin crossing the 12,000 runs, with Amit Mishra making a great test debut, Ganguly having a good time with bat on his last series, Ponting men being crushed, it was a good time for the cricket sport. Kudos to Vishwanathan Anand for defeating Kramnik.

Not to forget thanks to Sidney Sheldon, the book ” The sky is falling” kept me excited in the morning cab drive to office.
