25 rupees for 1 kg of newspaper!!

What? Suprised ? Please dont be. This weekend i was enlightened  about some of the bussiness tactics to which people fall in easily and the strength of MBA.  What bloody brains were working to get this plan ready and fool people.

Lot of old clothes, shoes, vessels and books lying without getting disposed. So this weekend, decided to dispose it after getting to know the “Mega Exchange” offer in Big Bazaar(BB).  So got everything packed and was eager to get it away. These things  were taken by BB people in terms of Kg’s.. So was inspecting them, if they were to do any tricks by lessening the weight. Do you know what happened? Suprising…, the one who weighed started to write 6 kg if the actual weight was 5.2 kg.. Wow, thought that i had come to a right place and who will give 25 rs. for a Kg of paper!. The amount that i would get ran into thousands. Thought i was lucky enough to be able to use this offer.   They gave me coupons worth Rs.500, 200, 100, 50, 25 denominations.

Excitement ended once  i started to buy things. The offer is if you have a 200 rs. coupon, you should buy commondities worth 4 times the coupon value if i were to get discount equal to the coupon value. In simple, if i have 200 rs coupon, and i buy 800 rs. worth, i will get 200 rs. discount, 25% equivalent. I can use the coupons with 1 month validity and only selected brands. Then realized why they used to put 6 kg instead of 5.2.  People, who are dumb like me, will initially be excited by the offer,  would sell the things, get coupons and later on realize that they have entered the vicious cloud of money making minds.  Why the hell should i buy a local, low quality product, just to get  discount. This is totally unacceptable, i feel its a day light robbery as they dont give you complete  information about the offer prior.

Although, i am still happy to have disposed the waste for some ‘x’ rupees, the way, public are blindfolded remains questionable.

Breakfast

I was enjoying good sleep in the cab on my way back home from work. I think the cab stopped suddenly with red traffic light flashing, disturbing my dream. Well, opened my eyes to see this . Took a few seconds to know what was happening. I was seeing H T Sangliana and Barack Obama in one banner, with politicians in the background. What am i looking at? Pinched myself to check if i was still in the dream. How are they both related? Is it another kind of political campaign? Well, i was wrong. It was to congragulate H T S, who was invited to have breakfast with Barack Obama on Feb 5th. Around 150 people from all over the world were called upon by the President of USA. I thought it was a great honour for HTS to meet Obama, the man whom US people believe would bring a ‘ Change’ in their life. Given the service HTS has done to the country as a supercop and as a parliamentarian, HTS deserved it and seems to be enjoying and honoured. I was wondering how do they choose people for such ocassions?

Anyways, i hope to have dinner with Barack Obama when i visit US next time i go; in dream though..! 🙂

Weekend

I had been to IIT’s.  This saturday had a chance to go to IIMB for K.K’s musical concert. I went to the concert just to experience the vibrancy, people bring in there.  You could find the bangalore youth out there. It was a good experience, firstly, my dream to touch a F1 car was realised. Force India had their car on show. During the 20-20 cricket match in  Bangalore, i used to use binoculars to have a peek at the F1 car, that was displayed.  Have a good view of the steering, the rear end and the aerodynamic wings of the car. I was surprised by the hollowness of the tyres used and how they withstand the hot track temperatures. As usual, the concert started 1 1/2 hours late. Anyway, we have a good time pass,  with the eyes getting its treat. I love to hear to K.K’s songs.  With songs from Bachno eh haseno, gangster, om shanthi om, saathiya etc.., covering love, friendship, party themes, people were treated to great music.  I admire the energy K.K brings on the stage.  I hope he gets to sing kannada songs in the future. 200 bugs was worth it.

Come every Friday 4pm, its time for sharing films. The network drives are a gift for all of us,  eliminating data transfers using pendrives, DVD’s.  Got a couple of them to entertain my weekend.  Chandni Chowk to China  and President is coming. It was terrible watching the 2 films.  First, CC2C, the concept was ok, but the comedy the director tries to bring in felt like a joke to me. Akshay’s martial art skills and some fighting scenes by deepika, was ok.  But people flying on getting the beat by akshay was a crap. Probably, the script has interchanged the serious scenes with comdey ones.., thereby confusing the viewer. The second movie, President is coming, the worst movie i have watched till date.  A handshake with the American President, a movie??  The script is absolute shit with know proper content. 6 people fighting against each other to get a handshake from the President, George W Bush. After all the dramas, a security gaurd gets the chance!! It was a total waste of time.

The Federrer Vs Nadal, what a match! 4 1/2 hours , was a absolute treat.  For Nadal, its his fitness and fast covering of the court, i think which takes him to a different level. Whoever wins, it was a great match. Kudos to bhupathi and sania.

New month has started.  Hope it has surpises in store.
