Stone….path…..goal….milestone.

Hi reader. Hope you are having a good deepavali.., well, i spent the holiday watching films, good food and a sleep. From the past few days, a thought has been catching me. May be the events, were the reason. Sachin on completing his 12,000 runs made a statement at the press conference , ” Stones are thrown at you, turn them into milestones”. Its one of the quotes i strongly believe in.

Problems are always there. But finding a solution to it with patience requires a lot of commitment. Probably, the biggest problem of an engineering student in VTU face is the exam. In my first year, i was very low in my confidence, since what score i expected in my PU exams and the result i got were not matching. Definitely the momentum which most of us carry from PU , saved me during my first year. But in life, ‘some events’ do change your lives. I wanted to prove something to myself, the competition too helped me to work hard which resulted in me topping my branch. When you have success, you enjoy it and probably might get carried away by the recognition you get. Thats what exactly happened to me. A friend of mine gave me an advice, ‘ Hard work is important, but at the sametime Smart work is equally important’. It was eye opener for me. I had to change my plans to tackle exam, probably i began to start enjoying subjects, not all though; by tackling it in a smarter way.

The reason i wanted to put this point is that, nowadays, people jump into the engineering stream due to force by their parents or the so called ‘ lucrative IT jobs’, but during their course of study, they realize that its almost impossible for them to continue. This happened with ‘X’. At this junture, one should introspect themselves. 1. whats the reason for them not having the interest? 2. they should realize that scoring is not the only thing to substantiate the success. The cause for not showing interest may be because they haven’t understood the subject and hence makes no sense for them to study. So, the solution is to plug the loop-hole. I personally felt, unless you know what a subject is intended to enlighten us, you wont appreciate it. ‘Scores’ alone, will never take anyone near to success in ‘life’. Its the overall development that matters in the longer run. People have different talents which makes them unique. I feel, they should discover it and try to work on it.

‘ Stones’ are these problems what you face in life and ‘milestone’, i feel its not just the success, its the way you acheive it and happiness you get after succeeding. Also, the path of turning ‘stones into milestones’ should be in way, a better human being be born.

Summing it up, my suggestion to ‘X’ or any other is that believe in yourself. All of us have some goal, if you dont have, then its good, since when you start finding it, you will understand your weakness and strenghts. Invest on your strenghts and i bet you it wont be Stock market situation we are facing!! Have a positive attitude ( well, i m also working on it). One you achieve a goal, that itself would have a different meaning, i.e milestone. Approach and enjoy life as if it was your last day.

Keep smiling…
